The old world meets the new, as Atilius Italian Wines launch in Australia. Already available online at Dan Murphy’s, in store at selected independent retailers, and for trade e-ordering through Kaddy, within days of landing, the range is poised to expand nationwide. Hitting the ground running, Atilius starts with six of its best sellers, ranging from iconic Chiantis and Super Tuscan for red aficionados to superb sparkling Brut, Moscato and Asolo Prosecco DOCG for bubble lovers, at a rivalling quality yet accessible price point.

Atilius Wines are not your everyday old world relic. Developed by a boutique brand builder with a reputation for challenging conventions, they are heritage Italian wines, authentic yet stylish, that will satisfy wine lovers. Inspired by traditions and made for the modern days, they strike a balance between simplicity and sophistication with an effortless yet bold appeal. Encapsulating the tasteful style Italy is renowned for, while stirring away from conventions, the bottle has a sleek allure, dressed in a monochrome metallic look, and emblazoned with an intricate logo that harks back to the knowledge, passion and origin of Atilius.

Atilius honours Italy’s most celebrated grape, the Sangiovese, through three delicious reds. Fruitdriven, with a focused acidity and subtle tannins, Atilius Nobilis is a youthful Chianti DOCG that remarkably typifies the region. Aged two years in barriques then one in bottle, both Atilius Prestigio, the Chianti Riserva DOCG, and Atilius Ribelle, the Super Tuscan, rated James Suckling 91 points. Prestigio displays a structured body with dark-berried and spiced notes, while Ribelle, a unique hybrid of Cabernet Sauvignon accented with Sangiovese, charms with its rich palate and smoky elegance.

Hailing from Veneto, home to Italy’s best sparkling wines and world-class Prosecco, Atilius’ sparklings are brilliant sips on their own or in spritzers, perfect for the warmer season ahead. The Moscato, Atilius D’Oro, low in alcohol and generously fruity makes for a refreshing drink. The Brut, Atilius Festa, is a Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio blend, with champagne-esque bubbles at a fraction of the price. Finally, the Prosecco, Atilius Superiore, from Asolo – one of only two places able to produce DOCG Prosecco, easily stacks up against champagne with its finesse.

Well ahead of the curve, Atilius has focused on classic Italian wine expressions and the latest explosive sparkling wine trends, marrying modern packaging and positioning with Italy’s life-loving spirit and culture of style to bring sexiness back to wine.

Atilius Italian Wines is nationally available through Jonathan Paige International Group Pty Ltd.
