Australian Venue Co., the new name for Dixon Hospitality, has confirmed it has purchased another venue on Darwin’s Mitchell Street.

Having purchased Shenanigans in September last year the group will be adding Monsoons to its portfolio next month. The bar, restaurant and nightclub is located on Mitchell Street and is a popular destination for tourists and locals.

The off-market deal, which was brokered by Brent McCarthy of Savills Australia, further expands the group’s already successful national growth strategy and means that Australian Venue Co now operates over 50 venues across NSW, VIC, QLD, NT and WA.

Monsoon’s current owner David Williams is positive about the future of the business in Darwin. “We have owned Monsoons since 2002 and it has been a fantastic venue for Darwin residents and visitors alike. We would only sell with our management team in place and to such a professional hospitality group as Australian Venue Co.,” he said.

Paul Waterson, Group CEO Australian Venue Co., added: “Over the last three years, we’ve seen remarkable growth as we’ve adopted and created some of the most exciting brands in the Australian hospitality industry. “Monsoons in Darwin is an institution, so we are eager to continue growing its celebrated reputation.”
