Foxtel’s LifeStyle Food channel has announced the winners of Australia’s ‘biggest peoples’ choice food awards’, with 28 categories including Favourite Bistro/Pub Food.

Nearly 100,000 votes were received for this year’s ‘I Love Food’ awards, which aim to represent Australia’s favourite food destinations as chosen by the public.

Rising above a national field to take the prize for pub food was Sydney’s Pyrmont Point Hotel, sustaining its reputation for the quality “pub grub” on its menu, created by head chef Steve Beasley.

With dining an increasingly important pillar of the modern pub, the PPH has been gaining recognition for its menu for a decade – receiving the AHA’s nod for Best Hotel Bistro as far back as 2005 and more recently the Good Food Guide’s mantle of Top 10 Sydney Pubs.

“We have always believed that offering excellent pub food at reasonable prices is essential for bringing patrons back time and again,” licensee Peter Walker told TheShout

“Our goal as a venue is to provide customer service that is not just the best, but legendary.”

The winners of the 28 awards each received a cash prize and a LifeStyle Food media campaign valued at more the $20,000.
