AHA SA’s Women in Hotels conference will be celebrating its 17th event and the 25th anniversary of its network at the Hilton Adelaide on 24 and 25 September.

The conference is a biennial event that brings together women from across the industry, to learn, be inspired, share knowledge and develop and strengthen their networks.

The 2019 conference provides an inspiring and comprehensive list of fantastic speakers across important topics including hotel leadership, staff wellbeing, mental health in the workplace, social media marketing, venue design, hotel case studies, panel discussions and more.

This year’s keynote speaker is Anna Meares OAM, the most successful female track cyclist in history, who will share her inspirational story. Also taking part on the day are Jackie Booth, COO of Zagame Corporation, who will discuss staff culture as cultivated by leadership; and Alysha Darcy, director of Melbourne Public, who will talk about her staff wellbeing program.

Other speakers include Georgina Sutton (Jetstar/Qantas), Simone Douglas (Social Media AOK), Louise Cooper (Coopers Brewery), Kate Nagar (Diageo Australia), Sandy Verschoor (Lord Mayor of Adelaide), Dr Niki Vincent (SA Equal Opportunity Commission), Nikki Govern (Business SA), Katie Spain (SA Life), Mardi Webber (Return to Work SA),  and Liinaa Berry (Sommelier 2KW Restaurant & Bar).

‘The Women in Hotels conference is a fantastic opportunity for the women of the industry to get together, learn, be inspired and take key learnings back to the workplace. The conference speakers are always an impressive list of industry professionals and the topics discussed cover the key important areas that we experience through our professional life and crossing over into personal development,” stated Karen Milesi of Murray Bridge Hotel.

“I thoroughly enjoy the time I spend alongside like-minded women from the industry and have built many strong networks that have lasted over decades. I leave the conference feeling invigorated and clear of mind to step back into the business with a positive and determined attitude.”
